how we started
It was 2017 when, after months of prayer, personality assessments, reflection, research, networking, and scrolling through LinkedIn, I felt no closer to finding a job I felt called to.
Frustrated with how ambiguous it felt to discern God’s will for my career, and confused on how to expand my awareness of job options, I thought... “There has to be a better way.”
That’s when God met me with my calling.
Alone in my hotel on a work trip to Chicago, I felt God say, “Go deploy my soldiers to the stations in society they were made to serve in.”
Intimidating as it was, I knew I was called to test, study, and iterate, until a reliable, biblical, and practical career formation process for Christians was formed. By early 2018, The Called Career was born. Since then, we have had the honor of deploying hundreds of faith-driven professionals into meaningful careers.

Meet Kelsey
I’m an ex-tech consultant and natural idealist with a streak of pragmatism that came from entrepreneurial parents who said, “Dreaming is great, but create a plan and go after it.” But before I became a business owner like them, I found myself deeply burnt out in a career I wasn’t meant for at all. In searching for a new job, I realized how overwhelming and confusing it can be to try to find a job you feel genuinely interested in and talented at.
Out of compassion for others in my situation, I began testing and iterating a process to help myself and others biblically discern God’s will and practically land a job that’s aligned with it. That’s how The Called Career was born in 2018. Since then, it has been one of my deepest joys to get to help hundreds of other Christian professions find their callings and step into career stories that can’t be explained except for God.

As a tech sales professional for a Fortune 100 company, I knew I had a knack for proactive outreach, thinking on my feet, and achieving my goals, but something was missing. It wasn’t until I became fully open-handed with exploring unique career options that I realized God was calling me to use my talent for boldness, paired with deep introspection and discernment, to help people get into the rooms they were meant to serve in.
As a career coach, it’s now my joy and passion to help our clients connect with their authentic selves and find a career that allows them to express that for the glory of God and the good of others on a daily basis. I’m here to help you clarify your calling, reinvent your professional brand, and confidently land the job you were meant for, even if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or not qualified for what you really want.
