Highlights

Using the scripts and steps I give you, you’ll reach out to experienced professionals in interesting jobs on LinkedIn, as well as your personal network

Schedule and lead 30-60 min interviews with them (I’ll give you the questions I want asked, but I’d also love to see you follow your curiosity and ask more)

Send those recordings off to the content editing team who will turn your interview into a YouTube video, a podcast, a blog post, and short-form clips for all our social media platforms

Share the short-form videos to your personal social media (LinkedIn at a minimum, preferably also Instagram and TikTok) and follow up with guests to give them instructions on how to share their interviews on their own social media accounts

be a part of something big

The problem you'll solve

We need 300 interviews posted on the new site by the end of the year, and that can’t happen without you. The 5-10 interviews you’ll source and record a week will have a quick compounding effect. By the end of the summer alone, we'll be nearly half way there.

What you'll receive

In addition to this being a paid position, you’ll receive startup experience and mentorship from a multi-time founder. This is perfect job for budding innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs. This contributor program will majorly build your professional presence, social circle, and personal brand, with highly produced videos that get your name out in a way that is likely to attract future job opportunities at a much greater velocity than your peers.

Requirements

Be achievement-driven, delivering your quota of 5-10 interviews on time every week.

Have a confident and engaging presence on camera, building rapport with both the professional you’re interviewing and the viewers.

Give each guest an incredible experience with our brand, sending them a thank-you note and instructions on how to repost their interview once it’s ready.

Be others-focused. This job is not about what you can gain. It’s about what you can contribute as you help bring a big mission to life.

Your Role

to interview interesting professionals IN VAST VARIETY OF INDUSTRIES, WHICH WILL BE POSTED ACROSS ALL SOCIAL CHANNELS. You will also play a pivotal role to product development and marketing, giving ideas and feedback to shape the platform.

How to Apply

APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED FOR SUMMER

Email our founder, Kelsey Kemp,  at hello@jobdictionary.com. In your email, include:

  1. Your resume.
  2. A quick Loom video introducing yourself and sharing what would specifically make you great at sourcing, interviewing, and posting guest interviews that will make up the knowledge base of the site (max 90 seconds). Hint for success: sharing that you are excited to learn and be a part of a startup is to describe a benefit to yourself. I’m looking for you to describe the benefits you’re prepared to contribute to me, the team, and our users. The most engaging, curious, and others-focused students will win.
  3. A short written summary of your pitch/why you're good for the position (max 5 sentences). It doesn't have to be the same as what you mentioned in the video. You are welcome to include new details as you see fit. Creative and direct to the point is best.
  4. Links to each of your social media accounts, along with a mention of your follower count on each.  Note: you do not have to have a massive following, but it is a consideration.
  5. An explicit confirmation that you are able to work 10-20 hours a week, starting June 3rd, and that you are willing and able to post all your completed interviews to your own social media accounts.

Thank you so much for your application! I am cheering you on and grateful for your eagerness to be a part of shaping the company in it's earliest days.

Sincerely,

Kelsey
